The Romans considered it seditious and egalitarian (proto-Communist), and were quick to persecute and murder/torture anyone caught preaching it
yet strangely it has endured for years, and when the boot was on the other end the Christians did not hesitate and sought retribution
all the temples dedicated to pagan deities were either destroyed or converted into Cathedrals for "Saints"
funny how it only took root when Rome was on its last legs
not that it mattered, Rome was suffering from corruption, incompetence and civil wars
like all Empires, they met their end from a inside out rot that consumed them like a disease
