I find this pic fascinating, assuming it is genuine I assume this is before hitler took any policies that put race above religion
After various conflicting policies were pushed, mit brenneder sorge was issued: https://www.papalencyclicals.net/pius11/p11brenn.htm
the pic seems to suggest the roman salute was just a chill nationalist gesture that was made into the equivalent of a "secular blasphemy" after the fact
The lolbertarian in me greatly detests the politically correct language policing... or at least it seemed like people were able to give roman salutes in the supposedly "free" country of American only some decades ago, at least even as a kind of joke, whereas today they are still ostracized (until there are more "elon musk salutes" to normalize them)
Idk why you guys pull this "mit brenneder sorge" thing out every time Catholicism and NS is mentioned. The Pope is saying don't worship race over Christ and leaves it at that. There is absolutely no condemnation of Hitler or NS that I saw.

That seems correct

Yeah I don't think hitler was necessarily condemned besides any putting race over religion, at least jfk (catholic) said some positive things about him: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-39371715
I'm not sure what's thought of natsoc, I know socialism was condemned, but natsoc's "socialism" is something different
