I can assure you, the spider does not realize that what it sees is its own reflection. They are too simple for that.
It may be thinking however "damn, this guy is pretty good!" 😄

Yeah, that little dance could be a show of a aggression, spiders are territorial creatures. Every year a cardinal nests in the tree outside the break room where I work, and it spends hours attacking his reflection in the window, thinking it's another male.

Usually misinterpreted as recognition outside animals like a elephant who they marked with a X. They took their trunk and tried to wipe it off their head.
The big brains in the animal world are animals like crows, chimps, elephants, orcas, dolphins, sperm whales. Basically pack animals. Dogs are basically retarded dogs compared to wolves to. Wolves have a huge frontal lobe in comparison and when they test their intelligence vs dogs even the border collie looks like an idiot.
Here's how smart a crow is compared to a cat lol. Bored crows=trouble for other animals.

Jumping spiders are probably my favorite creature on the planet. I can't think of any other insect/arachnid that can be emotionally personified through its appearance and behavior to a level comparable to mammals. They also make great pets.

It is funny seeing cats trying to attack themselves when they see a mirror, so the fact that ants can is amazing.
