Look on the right side "Community emotes" where it says "click here to view the list.
You have to type them like this "u\/#topkek" or "u\/#gigachad"
~~Without the quotes~~ Without escape character ("\\") they look like this: u/#topkek u/#gigachad
Escape character is something one can use to avoid normal processing. Can also be used to type \*these things\* instead of making something displayed in *italics*.
Anyway you can ignore the nerd speak, welcome to conpro.

That all being said, you have to have the custom CSS enabled to see them.

I do not have this enabled, so all I see are the texts of the board-emojis.

The custom CSS should be part of the default website, meaning you shouldn't have to change anything to be able to view them.
Are you maybe blocking some stuff with your browser? If you are using some strict anonymous browser setup or something, that could be the reason.

Edit: Or you mean you turned it off in the settings, of course then they wouldn't work, yeah.

Off in settings. The custom css is usually eyebleedingly retarded for some of the communities, so I keep it off.
