Their parasitism/shape-shifting is more evidence theyre likely derived from the Antinomian Gnostics rather than the actual Jews of the OT. The Gnostics were such notorious shape-shifters they ended up being a greater problem for the early Church than the original Jews, who ended up lacking the power to persecute the Church after Rome annihilated them. The Gnostics on the other hand were much cannier, and tried to infiltrate and co-opt the Church instead of overtly persecuting it.
