They have lived in la la land their whole lives. Imagine how terrifying it would be in your old age to realize it was all a lie and how complicit you've been in the destruction of what was good and grand. It's a lot easier to attack innocent people than to hold yourself accountable.

Yeah, inflation was literally 20% and you couldn't get a home loan for less than 30% interest in the early 80s.
