They rebuilt restaurants to have huge, plate glass windows so they could have feasts in front of starving children.

They are too full of themselves. Since thousands of years it has been part of their being, just like their greed. That's why they keep getting kicked out, and that's why history is in the process of repeating itself.

Supposedly, that's exactly what they did in the Soviet Union. And then their puppet Stalin jumped on an opportunity to seize real power and purge his enemies, including tons of the tribe.
