Australia DID NOT EXIST prior to the colonial settlements of the British. THERE WAS NOTHING PRESENT ON THE CONTINENT!
These pre-stone age savages didn't even create viable shelters! They mostly just cowered under the flora or maybe if they found a nearby cave. Only a few tribes crafted low thatched huts which were too short in which to stand, and even then only it was observed that not ever member of the tribe possessed access to this luxury.
The contient was mostly uninhabited and there was literally nothing there but a few scant tribes that only eked out a surviving population through r-selected reproduction.
