Hopefully he actually is more on the pulse of (actual) American Catholicism than the prior Pope, who I have a sneaking suspicion just trusted whatever the headlines said about politics (since he somehow managed to both condemn "antisemitism" but has also been one of the few major world leaders to also condemn Isntrael's war-crimes). We need to pray for the new Pope, otherwise we will just end up with more of the same.
