What? Goat shit doesn't smell at all. It's mostly decomposed grass. Chicken shit smells much worse. Though smell just indicates that you need more bedding or more ventilation. Grazing animals don't have nitrate dense poop and they spread it around the pasture where soil life eagerly breaks it down.
  
I check my chickens once a day. I give them feed, fill their water, and collect their eggs. If I care to, I can watch them a bit and figure out their current social spat. But there is no need. Though I agree about roosters being bastards. Every one we raise ends up in a stock pot.
