This is a public trial. The judge SHOULD be known and be revered as an upstanding member of their community. If they fear their identity known inside the very community they claim to serve, then they are not serving the community. That means they are traitors and must be rooted out and impaled. No honest fair judge would fear the sunlight in his or her own town.
