Because 25 years ago everyone thought they could kumbaya my lord through life and it was more important to not be called racist than preserving the birthright of your children.

25 years ago we all went to the same schools, same teachers, same textbooks, same opportunities in life. All the white children put out their hands in friendship and tried to participate in the experiment, but our hand of friendship was slapped away, violently.
