Growing up, and living in New Orleans, which from what I understand from friends and family who have traveled and lived other places is the closest thing to a “functioning melting pot” in the US, I too wasn’t raised to hate anyone. In fact, it was the complete opposite, and I came to understand their true nature from going to school with, and working around them. If you’re forced to interact with them daily for more than a few months, the reality hits hard, and fast, and there’s no putting that Will Smith back in the bottle.
