Yes, sorry to break it to you. Though they held fast admirably for a long time, the EO were eventually corrupted by neo-platonism and eastern mysticism. Here's a good podcast from a Christian perspective on the issue: https://stone-choir.com/very-eastern-less-orthodox/

Good question. I guess what I should have began with is understanding what you mean by mystery religion. You're right to recognize the falsehoods in the western church, but I'm sure you'll agree that doesn't negate the issues of the east which is our focus.

The issue with hesychasm, and why it is relevant in a discussion on the mystery religions, is not that it quiets the mind but that it tries to empty it completely in order to be filled by a diety of light. You might see where I'm going with this... (see first half of 2 Corinthians 11). But let me know what you mean by mystery babylon and I can formulate a more adequate response.
