I agree to an extent. The pontifex maximus is supposed to be the first among equals. The growing dictatorial tendencies of the bishop of Rome is what caused the church to splinter in the first place.

I'm fine with the office, but it should remember its purpose. Papal infallibility was the culmination of centuries of growing elitism among the papacy. Papal infallibility is a load of shit that was made the fuck up in the 1800s.
