What do you expect on a site that encourages people to get off the internet? Personally I dont think its healthy to constantly see what the latest "gud boy" did in the news. I come for the improvement posts but those have become rare.
That does still happen… occasionally. I think it may be that people subconsciously and quietly acknowledge what I’ve been saying for a while (and which Dr. Robert Putnam proved civilizationally) and are simply abandoning everything because they know there’s no future.

Both, in fact! It’s built into our psychology. As racial diversity increases in a community, interpersonal trust decreases. It’s not just that we don’t trust people who *don’t* look and act like us. In diverse communities, we don’t trust people who *do* look and act like us.
