If Jesus was born of immaculate conception then Joseph's bloodline should not matter so much since he did not inseminate Mary with his seed.

Moreso, it would be Mary's lineage that is more important at that point. If important at all. Jesus was born of the Holy Spirit or maybe this is an instance of an angel or spirit breeding with woman which is mentioned in the bible. Might have something to do with the section that discusses nephilim.
