There are a lot of disturbing things in this video, but why is the meatloaf covered in ketchup?

Do you put BBQ sauce on it? Covering the top with ketchup is quite common for meat loaf. My mom does a mix of both (I think), and it's the best meatloaf I've ever had.

Nah we have something we call brown sauce in Sweden, it's a cream sauce think bechamel but made from cream with beef stock and soy sauce. Meat loaf is served with this brown sauce, lingonberry preserve (not sweet) peas, and potatoes.

Locally it is also very common to have liver paté in the center of the meatloaf which is amazing.

This is American food. Ketchup is the staple sauce for Meatloaf.
