Exactly, it seems that many people equivocate when they talk about forgiveness. Forgiveness for Catholic means letting go of bitterness, resentment and desire for revenge. It does not mean an abdication of Justice. God is Justice. God demands Justice.

Indeed, Mercy without Justice is corruption, while Justice without Mercy is cruelty, God is both all merciful and all just.
