Ok, but I is not a doomer, hear me out.
For most of European history, Europeans did not view each other as kin.
If a White nationalist found himself on a medieval war council, he would be laughed at for opposing brother wars.
I am not a "black pill"-er, but historically, European nationalism is a new phenomenon, and it was only semi-popular in the 1600-1800's. Before and after that, it was and is a rather fringe ideology that most Europeans do not believe in.
You are unfortunately right about pan-europeanism being a relatively new idea, and unfortunately we do have a penchant for killing eachother, its true.
However, with the multiculturalism poisoning europe, i think european nationalism is the quickest way to galvanize europeans into action, across europe, against the invaders. With a focus on defending europe as a whole, i think it minimizes the chances of yet another brother war.
I dont care much for a european federation as the current iteration is more concerned with everyone but europeans, but if euro nationalism brought about a new one on the basis of keeping europe european i wouldnt be mad at it. Which is to say, it might not have historical precedent, but it may yet serve our purpose
