tongue-in cheek don't get too upset. your understanding of the history of the America people and nation is childish and retarded. by your logic spaniards are more american than you, and actually that's probably true.

Why would I be upset? My hair is brown, not blonde or red. You may have raped someone, but not my ancestors.

The Mexicans who left Mexico to join Texas are way more American than you guys realize. These are not the border-jumping wetbacks. If you saw them you'd think they were nordic because guess what? They are closely related. Spain was conquered by other Germanic tribes, twice or three times IIRC. The spaniards in Mexico, the "real" Mexicans not the mixed ones, are just as white if not whiter than anyone else who claims Germanic ancestry.

Combined with the fact that until the reformation England and Spain were pretty decent allies... We (Americans) didn't fight Spain until the Mexican-American War. Queen Elizabeth did a good job of taking over the world and putting the Spaniards in their place, long before we started developing our own identity.
