I haven't watched the video but my answer is a definite No.

Trump has been a key player in normalizing populism (on the right) and nationalism. The fact that he's normie enough to not get immediately thrown into the bigot box by boomercons has been very helpful.

Are you going to argue that Trump didn't contribute to RW populism? Ridiculous. He was a beacon that attracted lots of centrists, libertarian, and normie conservatives, while moving the Overton window so they could become more radical. I am one of those former libertarians.

Are you going to argue that he's holding back the rise of nationalism by serving as a safe release valve?

In lieu of Trump, would there be some explicitly white nationalist movement in his place? No. Trump is more accelerationist than any inaction ever could be. He provoked the globalist establishment into such spasms of frothing deceit that they annihilated their own credibility. Without Trump, we'd have at least another decade of people going along with the illusion that our institutions in their current composition are generally competent and eusocial. Instead, millions of people are incapable of trusting the establishment ever again.

That's good for any dissident movement.

It's true that Trump is well leashed when it comes to Israel, but Trump is not the future. Some people insist that anything short of Hitler 2 taking charge and nuking Israel on day 1 is a complete waste. But that's ridiculous. There is such a thing as momentum. I've watched PDW get more and more radicalized. I've gotten more and more radicalized. I've watched X get overtaken by a new dissident right that DGAF about the sacred cows of the past. I've seen the pearl clutching boomer cohort shrink, become more pathetic in their arguments, more clownish, and more widely ridiculed. Who cares if Trump kisses the Wailing Wall? Vance is going to Europe and telling their leaders to their faces that they're guilty of betraying their own people.

This matters. Look around you, for God's sake. For all the darkness in the world, there's never been this much hope that change is around the corner. And if you think hope by definition is an opiate to placate suckers, then you are by definition hopelessly hopeless, so why should anyone care what you think?
