I have issues with both sides of the civil war. The south was fucking suicidal for wanting to keep niggers around so bad.

Yeah, it was more of a "bad guys lost, bad guys won" sort of war. I doubt the nogs would have stayed in the south even if they did get their own dependence, they would have still invaded the north.
