This is a great question. It's one I've heard many times, often from well-meaning folks who make a big mistake of thinking that forgiveness means NOT stopping bad actors from doing us harm. Absolutely, we must and should do everything in our power to stop bad actors from doing us and others harm ... and we can also forgive them for being evil pricks in the process.
"Turning the other cheek" does NOT mean "bow down and die." Christ Himself said that for those who bring harm or corrupt the Christian, it would be better for them to have a "heavy millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea" (Matthew 18:6). Christ Himself said "Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the Earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword" (Matthew 10:34-36).
By no means did Christ tell us to allow evil to run amok on the Earth. That's a false Protestant notion. We have an obligation to STOP evil, but we must also guard our hearts from becoming the monsters we resist. We can fight evil without taking any pleasure in it (as one finds in taking revenge), for example.
In other words, our actions must be motivated by LOVE and NOT hate. We resist faggots, trannies and commies because we LOVE our children and families, and want them to live and grow in a healthy culture and community. We're not motivated by any "irrational fear" or "blind hatred," as the sexual degenerates accuse us. We resist them for true love of Christ and our families. Make sense?
