Actual Purim was a celebration of the original Jews defending themselves, of course these modern LARPers want to turn it into an excuse to kill people. Its also rather curious the portions of Esther they removed and tricked the protestants into removing show that Haman was actually an infiltrator from a rival kingdom attempting to destabilize Ahasuerus' kingdom, and was mad at Mordecai not just because he refused to bow before him, but also because he likely was the instigator behind the two eunuchs who attempted to kill the king but were foiled by Mordecai. A bit weird that the modern jews are essentially trying to cover for Haman by removing his actual wrongdoing from the scriptures.
