Not to mention that this Karen character usually criticize shitty businesses which tries to rip of their customers. Their only fault is that their anger usually is directed to some low level employee and not the boss who made the policy and deserves the hate.
And the problem is, companies have so much disconnection from those responsible and those dealing with customers, that there is no way to get to any of those who are responsible for what happens.
So what are you going to do? Argue with a low-level employee who hates his job, or do nothing? Talking with a local manager is better than nothing, but still too low level to be relevant.
If anything, it's a display of a dysfunctional corporate structures that intentionally isolate their decision makers from criticism of customers.
