The Sandinistas (male and female) committed thousands of atrocities against military and civilians. The 'right wing death squads' you hear so much about were 90% locals who organized to take revenge on Sandinistas who killed their neighbors, raped their women, and kidnapped/conscripted their sons; and 10% military taking out Sandinista command and control.
