I mean its literally stated in the Bible (2 Kings, or 4 kings in the vulgate, 17:6-41) that the Northern Tribes in Israel were replaced by Canaanites and other people from the surrounding area by the Assyrians, who basically co-opted the Hebrew Religion after God kept on sending lions to kill them, but they still kept a lot of their Pagan practices and still worshipped demons in addition to God (this is probably how El ended up in the Canaanite Pantheon). Later on, the Maccabees force converted a bunch of Canaanites and Edomites (who were Hebrews mixed with Canaanites and eventually married their way into the Judean monarchy, resulting in king Herod), and its highly likely many of these converts still kept their pagan practices in secret. Then there's the case of the Canaanite race that tricked Israel into signing a peace treaty and were sentenced to serve the Israelites for the rest of eternity as a consequence, eventually becoming subjects of the Israelite and Judahite kingdoms. So we have multiple documented instances of foreigners infiltrating or outright replacing the Israelites and Judahites, which wouldn't have been a problem if we still had the Genealogical Records they kept in the 2nd temple, but those were burnt along with it.
Mine isnt too great either, but I have read through it a couple of times because I had some suspicions on the legitimacy of talmudic practices, and most of them either subvert or contradict what is laid out in the bible.
