It's like everyone forgot Trump is a showman and had a reality TV show. All of what he does is hyped up to keep up the illusion that there's a real difference between Republicans and Democrats. His supporters love him and his detractors hate him but at the end of the day he hasn't accomplished anything that can't be undone on the first day of the next guy's term in the oval office.

*"~~Life's~~ Trump's presidency is but a walking shadow, a poor player, That struts and frets his hour upon the stage, And then is heard no more. It is a tale Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing."*

That's how representative democracy works. It makes real change impossible.

How exactly could a president do something that can't be changed by the next guy?

Nothing, and that's why Trump *isn't* the answer and voting probably isn't either.

In other words, there are no political solutions.

In 2020 Trump could have invoked the Insurrection Act and he would have had a good chance of establishing a dictatorship. He just didn't have the balls.

I don't buy that.

You can have at most two out the three of these things:
1. Trump is smart
2. Trump is a good person who love this country
3. Political solutions matter

He was in over his head from 2016-2020. His supporters will excuse him by saying "he didn't know how bad it was" or "he had the wrong people surrounding him" which really isn't an excuse for someone who has been hobnobbing around with those swamp creatures for decades.

He became president out of spite and pride, to accomplish it he simply read the room and figured out that all you have to do to get popular support is to shout mean things at democrats with bravado.

It paid off for him because (at least in my opinion) between 2020 and 2024 he cut a deal with the swamp to keep up the charade. Maybe I'm too cynical, but if voting for Trump is the *real* answer for our problems it was a stupid question.
