Nah, Christ was an actual Judean, the fake jews He railed against are the ancestors of the modern jews, they were the products of forbidden race-mixing with Canaanites and permitted mixing with edomites and had become mongrelized to the point they are now majority not even Hebrew. They had literally been doing everything they could to ignore the Law while adding their own inventions and mixing in some pagan practices, which is what Christ was calling them out for.

Yes, jews nowadays are not very Hebrew because of race mixing, I said as much in my comment.

Still, does holy text not describe everyone in jesus's area, him included, as being a jew?

With the obvious exception of the Romans, of course.

Correct, Jew just means Judean, but your wrong about Christ being a modern jew, the modern jews co-opted that name in the 5th century with the Talmud, at which point Judea literally hadnt existed for centuries. Its possible some of the surviving Judeans had a hand in creating Judaism, but it bears as many hallmarks of Gnosticism and other forms of Paganism as it does from the Hebrew religion. The only thing it inhereted from the Hebrews was the Hypocritical Legalism of the Pharisees, but even they were trying to *follow* the Law, whereas Judaism is predicated on subverting it.

Catholic Encyclopedia has a good overview on both Gnosticism and Kabbalah, and how theyre interrelated. It even mentions how the false convert behind Sabbatean Frankism was actually trying to promote Kabbalah within the Church, which thankfully never caught on publicly, though I wouldnt be suprised if some of the Modernist Crypto-jews actually were doing it.
