I've spent my whole life in Arizona and the PNW also known as the two most fucking beautiful regions on planet Earth, and yet people always second guess me when I tell them I found an area worth exploring on foot. I can't wait for my kid to be old enough to keep up with me so I can finally have a reliable hiking buddy.

Americans really are allergic to walking. 'Walking' is a bad word and only peasants do it. I'm sure there are tens of millions of people in this country who live within a mile of work and still drive every day.
