I talked to a man yesterday who is confused. I told him that Christ plainly lays out that any who should follow him would live a life of poverty. He was not speaking nonsense, he was not speaking in riddles. He strictly said that his proselytes would be poor men living off hand outs.
This man then said that Jesus was a very rich man. Jesus was a carpenter, and he *was* therefore the greatest carpenter of all time. He only wore one robe, but it was a magnificent and opulent robe. He didn't keep money laying around, he "put it to work" where the moth nor rust do corrupt.
I asked him where it said this in the bible and he had no answer except "he was God so he would've been this way" and continued as if what he was speaking was the absolute truth.
He substituted reality for delusion. These convenient fantasies are what you argue against.
Well, no.
