The wiki talk page is amusing with their twisting themselves in knots over this.

That's as much as we have sources for and that's as far as we can go. People saying "But it's an ancient symbol" are not going to change our minds without reliable sources to back it up. In fact, it only raises the question: Who told you that it was an ancient symbol?
