I used to think the parliamentary system was superior to the two-party state in the US and then I learned that losing parties literally can just 'give' their votes to other parties and you end up with a result like "The results are in, the Baby Dick Eaters Party received 4.3% of the vote, awarding them 264 seats in Parliament. Meanwhile, the Maybe Stop Raping Children party, with 44% of the vote, will double the control from 1 seat, to 2."
Turns out that two-party systems are at least honest about what they are, parliamentarians are a total joke and undemocratic as fuck.
The only bright side is in the UK there's a position called the "shadow chancellor" which is a pretty badass title.
