Magic ain't real. If you make some deal with some demon you don't get powers. The best you can hope for is that some other idiot who has made the same pact gives you a job. Essentially, 2 idiots have to make the same deal to make it seem real. It's a secret club, that's essentially it. You're never going to be casting fire balls and love spells.
