Remind me again, what's the need for parachuting people down from the sky in these days and age. When drones can do everything from spying to dropping bombs and planes can land on straight roads for those rare situations were ground troops needs to be moved fast.

If you parachute down too close to the enemy, they just snipe the soldiers as they parachute down. Parachute down further away and you're gonna need a bus to get the troops to the war zone the last few dozen miles away anyway.

HALO has its advantages where you need to establish and secure a beachhead or other FOB, and the situation with the drones having advantage will likely not last, but never underestimate the military's need for expendable assets.

In a video game you'd use a revolver for that which of course would be impossible. This requires modern high precision rifles. Or you'll have a drone dropping bombs on the area they landed. The possibilities are endless.

Mass airdrops behind enemy lines is the only time you would static line jump like this. Something like up to a 30% casualty rate is considered a success by commanders planning these operations. For these niggers there is no purpose.

Makes sense, although I didn't know about that 30% causality rate. That's almost as bad as the tranny battalion, which have 42% causality rate before they even encounter the enemy.
