The Americans showed a film to the US soldiers staying in Germany explaining that Germans can become very hostile and violent if you misbehave in Germany. Respect their culture and heritage, and they are pacific and gentle. Insult them or their culture and they will kill you. Also, the film warned the soldiers to beware German ideologies. A lot of people have been killed and died for German ideas.

EDIT: The decades after WWII. It was an old black and white film.
