There's gotta be a point where you just cut your losses though.
Now the game will suck up even more funding in an attempt to make it appeal more to the market. Arguably, almost another full game on top of their already expensive debacle.
I wouldn't want to let it go down the drain either, especially if I could rework the architecture into a better title, but I'm guessing they'll never recoup anything close to what they spend on this thing.
Absolutely zero point to cutting your losses. They could literally swap out the player models and replace any other woke shit and have a completely viable game to sell. They'd need to rebrand it and do new marketing but it's not like this is gonna be the last game in that genre they release - the code and assets will be reused.
Concord is dead no matter what. That ship has sailed.
They may scrap up and piecemeal some of its tech, but that's not the same as "remaking the game". That's salvage.
I'm coming at it from the premise that they're trying to save this thing. It's still Concord... maybe under a different name with some models changed around, as you suggested, but they're still trying to make a CO-OP hero shooter.
There's no guarantee it will succeed, either. They could rebrand and repurpose everything and it could still suck shit through a straw lol
Ironically they had to refund everyone who bought the game because they shut the servers down after 2 weeks.
Meaning, the only money they made from this was ESG funding and taxpayers' money from government programs.

Depends on the context of the situation.
