A pity that Spanish-German relations were sabotaged from within to prevent Franco actually joining the Axis instead of remaining neutral. Could've changed the entire war just that easily.

They didn't want to fight and turn their home into a battlefield, all except that psychopath De Gaulle. He left France with his tail between his legs to do what? Fight Germany? No. To kill Vichy French in Africa who also didn't want to fight because they are a colony and didn't have the men or resources to fight Germany. So De Gaulle kills them and destroys France's own colony, even though he also didn't want to stay in France and fight Germany. He deserved to be assassinated, but it should have come much sooner and more successfully.
