They make artificial bottlenecks and act as gatekeepers so you "have to" deal with them and give them a cut of the profits.

That's their hustle. That's' their "business model." They don't make anything themselves, just shave a fee, fine, rent or "royalty" off the top.

They used to force people to work for them by controlling the distribution of CDs, but most music is digital these days. Not sure why anyone would want to sign themselves over to them.

Watch more of his videos. The industry has completely flipped. It's not just about getting the spotlight anymore, it's about filtering out everyone else. The music industry has used their lobbyists and lawyers to bully social media platforms with copyright laws to only use (and pay for) select music libraries for use in videos. Meaning you're not allowed to use an indie song because TikToik and Instagram want to be "team players," they want to make sure the artists gets paid, and they can't do that with an unknown indie. "Here, use this pre-selected Taylor Swift song instead," says social media.

The music industry's reaction to indie musicians making their own communities online was to build the wall of their gardens 10ft. taller. Sure, you might have a little following online, but Spotify will never pay you what they pay signed artists, you'll never be heard on a major TV network, your music will never be licensed by a major TV show, you won't be played on the radio stations -- all of which they own. So enjoy making a few bucks from YouTube AdSense because, if you want to really make it big, you need to let them eat your lunch.

Yeah, but they've always done that with TV and radio and movies. It's always been kickbacks, blackmail, and jews working with jews against everyone else.

Yes, but social media and digital distribution didn't exist back then. That's what's different now. They've gotten to the social media platforms and said: "You better not let that indie make any real money on your platforms, or we'll sue you for circumventing copyright laws, we'll make up instances of copyright infringement, we'll get our advertising partners to hold back money, etc."

You said you didn't know why anyone would want to sign themselves over to them. That's the answer: because you'll get swept under the rug as an indie and filtered out unless you allow a Jew to manage your money and career.
