Is anyone here learning a new language? I thought it would be cool to help each other out if that's the case. I'm currently starting out on studying russian, so I'm personally most interested in knowing if anyone here knows that or is also in the process of learning it. I can also help out if someone is learning Italian as I'm from Italy.

why russian, I don't think that it would be important in real life except counter strike and online forums. Russia is over hyped anyway. German, French, Spanish or even Arabic would be useful if your Italian

He wouldn't need a dedicated language study group for that one. He almost speaks Spanish already. It'll take about 6 months for him to navigate easily in spain. More difficult would be heavy spanish dialects such as can be found in Andalucia, but there's no course that can prepare you for this.

It's mostly because I have always been fascinated by Russia, but I also like the idea of learning a language that feels completely different from what I know. I'm not doing it because it's striclty useful but mainly to improve my ability to take in and process information.

cool, also when knowing russian you probably could understand most slavic languages in some degee on another, russian have also more english based words than polish

Plus if you know Russian *and* English you can get by in any eastern bloc country iirc.
