This is the issue with Partisan Politics (and by extension all circuses, sportsball) replacing actual in-groups like Nation and Religion. People end up just rooting for a "team" regardless if the the team actually represents them or not.

Consume Product is not meanspirited. Being mean for petty reasons is not the Consume Product way. Lead by example, be the change you want to see.
