if the man didn't play along its what would've happened and the kids wouldn't have been able to see their father
in a jew free society, when a woman displays concern for a would be murderer/rapist she would rightfully be beaten on the spot by the patriarch of the house, probably into a coma considering how stupid it is.
Few men are even willing to try and enforce discipline in their homes. Allow discord in the home, allow a disobedient wife, tolerate her dominance, you reap the reward of a dysfunctional home.
