The "modern" Church (post Novus Ordo) has been hijacked, and the anti-pope we have now is, in fact, an unapologetic communist with ties to Liberation Theology. I won't defend either in their current state. But Catholics, especially those Traditionalists who celebrate the Tridentine Mass, as the true remnant of the Church.

The Orthodox branches benefit from not having modernist "reforms" like the Novus Ordo, while still being rooted in traditional, family-based cultures in Europe and the Mediterranean. Many Catholics, disillusioned with the Novus Ordo circus and commie anti-pope, are flocking to the Orthodox.
