He has a point about the last thing though. The real ones are self taught and motivated. But his problem is that it's not *worth* working for him. Anyone smart enough to be on his roster is also smart enough that it's more worthwhile to do something independently rather than being a corporate drone.

No he doesnt. Some are self taught and motivated. Sometimes, until you see some light, you have no idea how motivated you can become. I am an engineer and in certain situations I am completely unmotivated due to reasons. But if I ma working on a meaningful project it is an entirely different game

Exactly this. My current project is tedious and boring which kills my motivation. My previous project was worthwhile and meaningful so I was much more motivated about it.

He has a point only because our current schools are all terrible.

Pretty much everyone who has ever created a technical acheivement (including the people building tech for Musk) went to a school. It's not that the school sat them down and explained how to do it, but it provided a place where lots of high talent people gathered in one place for a specific purpose with resources available for them to experiment.

Yes, our schools are DEIing and basically useless but the solution isn't "let's just get rid of schools", it's "let's fix our schools".

In the same way, the solution to our young people not being motivated isn't "import motivated people" (not the least of which because they lose motivation after living here for a decade), it's asking "why are our young people not motivated"?

Anti-natalism, climate alarmism, systemic oppression; all of these things are telling young men "it's better that you don't exist" and this is the result. Fix that.
