The Renaissance started in the 1300s.

The reformation started in the 1500s.

The reformation did not cause the renaissance.

Protestants ruined Christianity.

Protestants are literally retarded and gay.

Most of today's problems can be traced back to the reformation.

God had to call Joseph Smith to stop the damage that the protestants were causing.

You can't refute this because you know it is true.

SOLA SCRIPTURE, SOLA FIDE, and all the other SOLA's are complete and utter lies. Ask any Catholic, they've been trying to tell you protestants this for centuries now. Maybe you should pay a little attention to what they have to say hummm?

Y’know, I’m the last guy to ask those things. I’ve only approached Christianity later in life from an atheist, religion of Science-based upbringing. I’m still open to the idea that the god in vast portions of the Old Testament could be the so-called “Demiurge”. Basically I’m open to any idea until I have a reason to rule it out. In fact the first (debatably I suppose) Christian text I read was the gospel of Thomas, which is seemingly indifferent on the subject. So maybe Jesus was literally the eternal and co-existential manifestion of the one true universal God, in some kind of unique tri-partie structure with the Holy Spirit as their(or the His? Or the Father’s?) mediator. I don’t know. Maybe “the Logos” is present in everyone? Maybe certain people really can live up to their potential? Some vessels end up destined for glory, some for mundane things, and some for the unmentionable things, so we’re told. What was going on with Enoch? What was going on with Buddha? Also more mainstream I wonder about the long history of unitarian beliefs in the Church. It was behind (more than a few of) the oldest schisms, right? and even persisted into relatively recent times with people like Newton and some of the founding fathers.

I’ve definitely drifted closer to mainstream Christianity in the last handful of years. There’s a lot to learn about. But I wouldnt say I’ve come any closer to the idea which I find to be the crux of things, this *transactional*, *mathematical* notion that Jesus came about and died gruesomely as some kind of…down-payment on my entry to Heaven, which is to be administered by a bunch of wretched pedophiles and land barons… there ***has to be*** more to it than that.

Sorry for the ramble. First time in a few days I’ve gotten a chance to enjoy some dankmas goodies so instead of the usual flow of consciousness it’s more a flood (or a barf lol). So I'll just cut myself off there but would love to talk more about this, maybe in the morning with fresh eyes, maybe I’ll have something approaching an answer to some of your good questions.

Merry Christmas buddy

And yeah, honestly wouldn’t surprise me to learn the “jeet” was part of the original insurgency epidemic. Like a side character who got spun off lmao
