I still hold to the belief that if masking was normalized by the majority of the population, they'd have ramped it up to respirators that trap exhaled carbon dioxide, '*to combat climate change*'. In practice though this would have resulted in prolonged oxygen deprivation, making people into voodoo zombies who are too stupid to do anything but follow orders.
