They're so unfathomably delusional. He would rather *die* than swallow his pride and take shelter that doesn't come with a gesture of absolute affirmation and public conformity to his narcissism.

Just think, if *you* were going to freeze to death, you'd curl up in a damn port-a-potty if you had to.
