This is the fundamental flaw with being compassionate. You feel the need to love and accept all your brothers and sisters, even the ones who love random space bacteria on a meteor more than you.
I agree with you, though theres some things I don’t feel much connection with. Kind of interesting thought i had recently that im going to expand upon now…the leftist empathy is super-boxed in and immature. They teach men to essentially act as histrionic little girls, crying over the most random things. They teach men it’s okay to cry over things like that all the time. They don’t teach them to act stoic and never tell them to toughen up much anymore.
Likewise, they teach that it’s impossible to empathize with someone (and that you shouldnt empathize with someone) unless it’s taught. Unless you can relate it to your own life experience. They never tell you to put yourself in other people’s shoes, to imagine life from their perspective. It’s a very limited worldview.
Funny enough, they teach that those that don’t act exactly like them are “brainwashed” and “in a cult”. I guess projection is the only verbal currency they deal in.
They believe that the locus of empathy can expand, but really it just shifts. The furthest you can possibly care without losing yourself and your family, is race and nation
