>If you read the Bible, it says that his love is highly conditional, and if you piss him off, he'll destroy you.
Technically, He *does* unconditionally Love us, because thats His "nature", He actually Loves Satan unconditionally too, which is why He hasnt retroactively erased the devil from existence. The issue, as you pointed out is that most people, not just Protestants because its a huge issue in the Church too, do not understand what "Love" actually is. Love is not blind acceptance and the enabling of degenerate behavior, Love is literally "Willing the Good of another". If you will the good of a disobedient Child, you dont enable their disobedience, you *punish* them so that they dont do something that could get them killed. God punishes the wicked *because* He is a Loving God and wants to correct them before they get themselves in Hell, and if they do end up in Hell by choosing to reject Him, He still maintains their existence.
